TSKL-Taleem Sub Kay Liye (Summer School)

It was pretty awkward when I first stepped in Gul Hassan Lashari School. Since it was my first day, I had no idea where to go and what to do.  I am not really a shy person, but my first day at Summer School was a bit weird. Because a, I didn’t know anyone over there and b, I had no idea what I had to do.

I was assigned 1B that day. What a smashing day it was. Like LITERALLY. A window fell on my head and the glass broke into pieces.  And then, all of a sudden I was surrounded by the other teachers who quickly took me to the staff room.

‘Are you ok?’

‘SHOULD WE TAKE YOU TO THE DOCTOR?’

‘OMG, do you want chips? Want anything to eat?’

Oh yeah, I made new friends. *laughs*

So… yeah.  I was a teacher at the school. I had NO idea that one day I would be teaching kids. It is not easy teaching kids, alright? Even I didn’t know I would be able to control them. Every day, exactly 9 we used to reach the premises.  Every morning looking at all those bright faces used to give each and every one of us a wonderful feeling. No matter how tiring the job was, no matter how much hard work had to be put in, in the end of the day we all knew it was worth it. Entering the classes and hearing the kids greet you and refer you as ‘Miss’ or ‘Sir’ gave an exalting feeling itself. I was never an obedient student back in my school days, always used to bug my teachers and ran around the class. Getting to have a class like this was a lesson for me. It was like déjà vu. It took me quite some time to understand the kids psyche. All they needed was proper attention, and a friendly atmosphere which wasn’t being properly provided to them at their own schools. Such is the case of nearly every government school in Pakistan where teachers take up money without giving in any effort for the school in return. I remember teaching in 2B (which by the way was the BEST class) and I was telling them the correct pronunciation of parrot. They read it as ‘pay-roat’ or something like that. For continuous 10 minutes I made them pronounce the word repetitively until they said it right. It was one of their teachers who had taught them this pronunciation.  In the first few days of school, a group of four kids had constantly been a trouble. Never concentrated, never studied and barely ever cared for what was going around in class. Zahir, Fahim, Ahmed and Wajid. Fahim and Ahmed being the naughtiest ones, while Wajid and Zahir being weak in studies.  Me and 2 other co teachers worked hard on these four kids, and the change that came in them was incredible. Yesterday was the last day of school and looking at them made me so proud of myself. I had brought a change, maybe not to a large group, but at least to a few.  These four kids had not only improved academically but there was a change in their behavior as well. I asked Zahir that day that what had he learnt throughout the month, and his reply was, ‘To respect.’

The main aim of summer school, was for us students reach out to these kids and provide them with education in the right means.  None of us worked for the certificate, or money or any such sort of thing. We could’ve easily sat at our homes in air conditioned rooms, but no we didn’t. There were many alternatives but everyone of us chose THIS. Realizing our responsibility to the under privileged all of us availed this chance and made the best out of it.  This is exactly what every citizen of this country needs to do right now. To realize all the sufferings of the poor and to find solutions to their problems, that would ultimately solve our country’s problems.  The normal practice in government schools is nothing but a waste of money and time, which could be utilized in the most efficient ways but is not.  If people amongst us don’t look around and search for these problems, then how would solutions be found? How do we expect a change in this country, when all of us act selfish? This country is our responsibility and by finding and availing opportunities like this summer school, a big impact could be brought!

I am really sad while typing all of this, because summer school is now over and the attachment with the students has become really strong. By the grace of God, I was able to teach and He gave me the strength and patience to do so.  I pray for these kids to be successful in life and achieve all their dreams making their parents and this country proud. Amen.

1. Got friends in Senior Boys? Ultimate no-no.

2. If you have a boyfriend, no need to flaunt to the world. People are gonna end up making rumours that you aren't a virgin anymore.

3. NEVER EVERRRR put a love song as your status. People might end up believing you're madly in love. (Even when you're not)

4. If you're one of the popular girls, get ready to be called a slut by the boys from Senior Boys when you reject their 'fraandship request'.

5. Don't be afraid of having too many fake IDs. Seriously. Those boys are just jealous they dont have sexy bodies like you.

6. Have a hate page against you? Its probably by your secret lesbian lover.

7. If every single thing on your Facebook profile is overrated-YOU ARE POPULAR.

8. Showing attitude with a whole lotta kajal applied will get you nowhere.

9. If you want to keep your principal happy, DANCE FOR HER. (Yes, I've been through this)

10. No need to display your group fights to the whole world. They probably don't care. So stop putting status' pointing other girls. You're just giving everyone something spicy to talk on.

11. Think you're too cool and burger? JUST STFU. You're from Senior Girls.

12. Wearing grey sweaters around your waist is SO out of fashion. Seriously, dont. Its a fashion crime.

13. DRAMA. Star plus, live show. Only at Senior Girls.

14. You'll be crying your two years to get out of this branch, but when you do, you're gonna be crying out to get back in. You'll miss it. Trust me. :)

15. Accounts and free periods are 2 great synonyms.

16. Hypocrisy is in everyones nature, nearly. Don't be like those.

17. We hate the PAFIAN girls. We call them manhus. YES WE DO. If you dont, you're a manhus.

18. Getting in the damn council needs good badges and expensive banners. Thats it.

19. A pillow and a blanky is a must for English classes.

20. If your seniors hate you, go and apologize. Make up to them. SERIOUSLY DO THAT. You'll become ultra cool. B)

21. Go to Senior Boys and get a song dedicated? Don't cry. Be calm. Breathe. And say, 'Thankyou bhaiyya' :D

22. WE ARE NEVER HAVING A FAREWELL WITH THE SENIOR BOYS! Seriously. Stop believing those freakin' rumours.

23. If you have a boyfriend from Senior Boys.. seriously? GET A LIFE.

24. Bonfire's are seriously the most awaited events. Get yourself a nice dress made a month before.

25. Never follow your farewell theme.

26. Nobody likes a bitch. BE NICE.

27. Being friends with juniors is nothing wrong. Go upto them, hug em. Those little kids need lurvvv.

28. Wear waterproof makeup on your farewell. Trust me, the video's gonna make your eyes bleed water.

29. If you're kicked out of another school for being caught making out, and then ending up in Senior Girls-People are ought to find out. *evil laugh*

30. Literally, your friendships are gonna be at stake, try to make it through.

31. After all, we're all a big happy family. :D

Abortion-Justified or not?

It is a very interesting topic, since I barely write on such things, but I think we must certainly look upon such social issues and discuss in detail about them to not only increase are knowledge, but find better solutions for the future.

Let me get started at the keyword here, and that is 'Abortion'. What exactly is an abortion? It is the expulsion of human fetus.
Abortion, in other words is also termed as 'murder' by many people all over the world. They believe it is killing a human. The question occurs, that is it really 'human'? Pregnancy has 3 trimesters, the first one being from week 1 till week 12. And during that period, the fetus is just a fetus with no ability to think, and no conscious. So can the fetus be termed as a 'child'? No.
It is true that that no one in this world has been given the authority to end a life, as that right lies in the hands of the Creator only, but one most also consider certain situations which make abortion necessary.
It is the woman who has to carry the child in her womb for 9 months, and it is her who has to go through the suffering of giving birth to the child. So doesn't the mother have the choice to decide whether she wants to carry that child or not?
Nobody has to do that task for her, and hence, it is totally unquestionable as to who gets to make the decision. Although if we think about it in a much more 'ethical' way, aborting might not always be the right decision if there is no valid reason available.

A woman getting raped, incest, fetal deformity, mother's health being at risk, and other issues that will be discussed further are such reasons which might force a woman to abort her fetus.

If a girl is raped, then she is not at fault so why keep a constant reminder of that dreadly event in front of her eyes, when she has the choice of not to do so? Killing the fetus might sound draconian, but by shadowing the girls choice.. THAT is draconian as well! Let us go through another example of incest. Incest is sexual intercourse between close relatives, and it is a form of child abuse as well. There have been many cases which have resulted in unwanted pregnancies. The Huntington Case is an example of it and Journal Gazette states,

'She told Huntington police and investigators with the Huntington County prosecutor’s office that her father began having sex with her.

Sometimes he told her he would pay her for certain sex acts or intercourse, and other times he would use sex as a form of punishment, such as for losing her job, drinking or bringing him methamphetamine instead of crack cocaine when he sent her out to buy drugs for him.'

No wonder this is inhumanity, so why should the victim suffer for something that is not even her fault?

Medical conditions are also amongst those reasons which are acceptable for an abortion. Sometimes the mothers health is at risk and therefore the only solution for that is abortion. It wouldnt make sense, that putting the mothers life in danger would be better than to abort the child.

Technology has advanced greatly and now it could also be determined whether the child is going to have a certain disability or not. In that case, yet again it would sound stupid to give birth to a child that has a sickness with him. This would not only hurt the child but also the parents. If you're aware that, suppose, your child is going to suffer from a severe disability, then for how long are you going to take care of him? For how long will you be always there for him? You never know what happens, so would you want him to suffer in this world when there is no one to look after him?

I guess we all know the answer to that.

Ethically speaking, yes, it is wrong to get abortion if its cause of your own mistake. That is pre marital pregnancy. If its YOUR mistake, then no one has given you the right to kill that innocent life!
Women of today have become so much more career-oriented, that they prefer abortions over giving birth.
God has given us all a brain, right? Then why not take protection and simply avoid the consequence?

HAVE SAFE SEX, GOD DAMN IT! Is that hard to understand? When you dont want to have a baby, then why do something which will cause one!

To sum it all up, what I'd say is that abortion is justified to a certain extent, only is a valid reason is stated, otherwise it is not only ethically wrong, but socially wrong as well! Cause thats the way it is..

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.

Life is never the way we want it to be.
For certain, human nature is too selfish. We always want the best in our life, and never to have bad experiences.
This can not be so. We ask why?
So many questions run around our head everyday, that why cant human be happy every second of the time? Why cant be that so?
Sometimes, we're not happy with our looks, sometimes we're not happy with the most unconcerned things like our dresses, the shoes we wear, maybe our friends, or maybe where we live.. or sometimes, simply, human being is not happy with his life.

Why so?
That is the exact question which arises in every mind. Money cant buy happiness, right? But even if it does, you might see a very rich man, who is sick and tired of his rebellious children, or maybe a very rich kid, who is frustrated about the fact he's being used by all of his friends due to his wealth. Whatever the situation is, not a single person in this world can EVER be happy with whatever he has.

What I am about to write is not based on human satisfaction, but based on certain situations in life.
Certain events in life take place which cause great damage to a persons life in someway. We might lose hope. Sometimes we might lose faith.

And that is when we become weak.

Never ever lose faith and hope.
Trust Allah.
If there was only good in the world, people would not gain something from experiences they've had with bad events. Believe in Allah and seek His guidance, when you know that nothings going right. Trust Him, for what He does is for the best. And for sure He will someday give you its reward. Your patience and your belief in Him never goes to waste. If the world accuses you and laughs at you, say nothing.. but pray.

This world is too cold. You cant go around telling everyone that you are not a bad person. Who is going to believe you?
No one will.
Everyone is too selfish and too busy in their lives. Seek nobodys aid, but God's. Its He, who will be there for you at your worse and better. Not anyone else.

Your faith and trust in Him, teaches you patience, tolerance and steadfastness.
These are the key things for a successful life in hereafter.

No matter what goes on in your life, accept it and face it and rememember that it is a test. It is a test from God, because He knows that you are strong enough to face it.
Dont ever lose hope.
Pray, thank Allah and ask for His forgiveness. Be happy no matter what, and never complain. There are people who are worse off and have much terrible lives.
If you start thanking Allah, you will see that this world is not something we should worry about. But what we should worry about, is that in all circumstances we must never do anything wrong, which is against the will of Allah.

That is because, thats the way it is..

Lily Allen as an inspiration.

'Look inside,
Look inside,
Your tiny mind.
Then look a bit harder,
cause we're so uninspired.
So sick and tired.
Of all
The hatred you harbor,
so you say
It's not okay to be gay,
Well I think
You're just evil.
You're just some racist.
Who can't tie my laces,
You're point of view
Is medevil.'-Fuck you.

It just says it all. You know what? Its OKAY to be gay.

'When you first left me I was wanting more
But you were fucking that girl next door, what ja do that for?
When you first left me I didn't know what to say
I never been on my own that way, just sat by myself all day

I was so lost back then
But with a little help from my friends
I found a light in the tunnel at the end
Now you're calling me up on the phone
So you can have a little whine and a moan
And it's only because you're feeling alone'-Smile.

HAHA. Okay. This one speaks for itself. THANKYOU BEST FRIENDS.

'Can't knock em out, can't walk away,
Try desperately to think of the politest way to say,
Just get out my face, just leave me alone,
And no you can't have my number,
"Why?"
Because I've lost my phone.'-Knock em out.

For all the freak, despos who just cant stop annoying me. Get a life. NOT GETTING MY NUMBER EVER. Atleast not from me. And, I'm busy. So, Go away.

'I'm sorry if you feel that I'm being kinda mental,
But you left me in such a state.
But now I'm gonna do what you did to me,
Gonna reciprocate.'-Not big.

Weirdo, or whatever you call me. Like I give a shit to your 'Blah, blah, blah'
If I do what u did, u gonna freak out SUCKER.

'Look me up and down,
I don't make a sound,
There's a lesson that I want you to learn,
If you're gonna play with fire then you're gonna get burned,

Don't try and test me cos you'll get reaction,
Another drink and I'm ready for action,
I don't know who you think you are,
But making people scared wont get you very far.'-Friday Night

Bitches and Dogs, HULLO. Try to act over smart? Look up at me. You'll get your head straight down to earth. Think am a sissy? Come at front, let me straighten you up. (:

'I've been thinking that you've crossed the line,
if you disappeared that would be just fine,
'cause you waste my time and waste my money
and you're not too cool and not too funny!
Spreading your seed all over the town
getting too greedy and messing around:
Oh my gosh you must be joking me
if you think that you'll be poking me.'-Shame for you.

You. Are. Outta. My. League. Come when you get some respect. Come, when you get a life. Otherwise, GET LOST.

'Sometimes I find myself sittin' back and reminiscing
Especially when I have to watch other people kissin'
And I remember when you started callin' me your miss's
All the play fightin', all the flirtatious disses
I'd tell you sad stories about my childhood
I don't why I trusted you but I knew that I could
We'd spend the whole weekend lying in our own dirt
I was just so happy in your boxers and your t-shirt'-Littlest Thing.

Always gets me upset. Boom. Fuck. Like I care.
Wait I got a perfect line for a few of my emo friends.

'Dreams, Dreams
Of when we had just started things
Dreams of me and you
It seems, It seems
That I can't shake those memories
I wonder if you feel the same way too'-from Littlest Things. For hafsa, and sumbul.

'What the fuck do you know?
Just cos you're old you think your wise,
But who the hell are you though,
I didn't even ask for your advice
You wanna keep your mouth shut,
You wanna take your thoughts elsewhere,
Cos you're doing in my nut,
And do you think I care?'-Take what you Take.

Exactly, go away and take ur sucky advices and corny statements with you, COS they hurt!! But, hey. IDGAF! :)

'I don't want us to have a fight,
But in the background I can hear you chatting shit,
I hear it every night.
And you think you're being really cool,
You've been doing it since we were both at school,
Now who looks like a fool.
'- Friend of Mine.

This is for all the biotches and dirt bags at school who have been doing shit with me and my friends! :D
Wait, I HAVE MORE SUCKERS.

'What happened to the good old days?
I was kinda hoping this was all a stupid phase
Who are you anyway?
I know you've heard this all before
I know some people who are calling you a whore
Don't know you anymore'

Haha, this ones for all the friends I have lost in the past years. F* you all. Glad you guys are outta my life!

But, here's this last one. And yeah, am actually glad to put up this one.

'Oh yeah, I'm fine,
Everything's just wonderful,
I'm having the time of my life.'-Everythings Just Wonderful.

Yes, I am indeed. Enjoying my life with my awesome family, my best friends, my teachers (blekh), school, seniors, whatever and those dirty guys! ;)

Cheerios! <3

The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.

I've always had a complex.. Inferiority complex about myself.
Inferiority Comple:A persistent sense of inadequacy or a tendency to self-diminishment, sometimes resulting in excessive aggressiveness through overcompensation.
In simple words, I always under estimated myself. I still do. Maybe. Trying not to. Its the only thing I never forget doing. At a party, rather saying 'I look awesome' I'd be saying, 'Dang, look at her. She's so pretty. Wish I was too..'
And then I would see my own best friends in front of me. All girly. Pretty. Beautiful. Awesome. With a perfect dimple, or a perfect smile, or their perfect bodies. Outside, I'd be proud to call them MY best friends. Inside, I'd be saying, 'Why did God make me so ugly?'

'I'm tuggin' at my hair
I'm pullin' at my clothes
I'm tryin' to keep my cool
I know it shows

I'm staring at my feet
My cheeks are turning red
And I'm searching for the words inside my head

'Cause I'm feeling nervous
Tryin' to be so perfect..'
-Avril Lavigne

The only words that I used to desribe myself were with UGLY, HIDEOUS, PATHETIC. Why so? Cause some jerks said, "Lylaa-Ew that ugly one?" I show as if I don't care, but I do. And so at that time, it hurt me. IT struck me hard. I felt bad and thought, really was I that bad? Some people would sneer on my face. Others would pass comments, or whisper right in front of me. "Uh, she's such a weirdo.. I dont even know what she looks like. UGLY, simple!"

I am not the girly type of a girl, who'd go for beauty creams or whatever. (Major Ew)
So, I wondered what was exactly wrong with me? I mean, was it cause I was not 'white' or I had a snubby nose? Or was it cause of my fatso lips? OR maybe I was too skinny.. WHAT EXACTLY WAS WRONG WITH ME!?
Ok so I tried changing myself. Bought the most expensive clothes, wore the best of everything. Still, never worked. Whenever I would see the perfect faces in front of me, it would only make me feel worser than ever.

But then one day, while reading a book (and I don't remember which one) I came across this line : Be yourself and don't care about anyone's shit. Never let them take you out alive!

Okay, helpful. Again, those pretty faces. God, it was torture. I would scream on the inside, yet there was always a smile on my face.
Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly..

Then, there was this perfect, cute guy. Not cute. Okay! *Laughs*
So, there it was. My crush. He is the most awesomest person alive.

'You don't know me
Don't ignore me
You don't want me there
You just shut me out
You don't know me
Don't ignore me
If you had your way
You'd just shut me up
Make me go away

No i just don't understand why you
Wont talk to me it hurts that i'm
So unwanted for nothing don't
Talk words against me'

Owch.

Never mind. He has his perfect girl. Not exactly, still.
IT feels like I am invisible. Invisible to the world. Okay, wtf am I saying? :p

Self torture it is. Always cursing yourself. And for blaming all your failures on how you look!
But then one day I came across this quote: Love yourself, for if you don't, how can you expect anybody else to love you?

And that was when I realised what was the whole problem. What was wrong was the way I felt for myself. I always thought crap about me. And the more I heard others, I always used to care for what they talked about.

Instead of thinking about what you're missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing. Why compare yourself with others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection. Never let anyone take you down.
And the fault always lies within.

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.

Super, Sexy, Sweet, Sixteen!

Sweet Sixteen, the age which every girl waits for since her teenhood starts.

Just like others, so did I.

'I wanna know what it feels like

I need to see it from the inside

I can taste a bit of what I will find

So much more to life

Sweet sixteen'-Hillary Duff

Had been waiting since 13! Dig that. *Laughs*

People say sixteen is an age of innocence. Okay hold it right there. INNOCENCE? Sure. Well yeah it is a very sensitive age. But hey, I am not here to talk about THAT. Lets talk about the

party.

A Sweet Sixteen is a traditional party for girls when they turn 16. Its a very special day for a girl, and yes A VERY SPECIAL day. A day when a girl steps into womenhood. For a family, it is a time when they very proudly show off their daughter to their family and friends. It is a time to create a magnificent feast and a blast. For the one turning sixteen, it is a time to get her best friends together for an unforgetable good time! It is that time, when she gets an opportunity to dress up in a beautiful outfit and show off herself in the best way and be the centre of attention for a day!

Well.. I just had my sixteenth celebrated few days ago. 4th june. :)

It was a mega blast. Better than I had expected it to be like. It was MY big day! From the million birthday wishes, to the million birthday posts on facebook, to the million calls, and the dozens of people appearing on my party and making it a huge blast!

I got around 40 texts, more than 200 wishes on facebook and loads of calls! My grandma threw me this little surprise party at home, with my family people. Then the next day starts off with a bad news. 'Cyclone Alert'.

That sure ticked me off, I mean it was my sweet sixteen and it was gonna be ruined by the stupid cyclone 'PHET'. I kept praying and praying hoping NOTHING would ruin it. And yeah, my prayers were heard.

So the next day, my best friend comes over and we get ready and on the way listen to some awesome music and then reach the hotel. Regent plaza, it was.

An amazing day TOTALLY! Around 40 people came, and made it such a huge day. I wore my special dress, the one my grandma made for me. Everyone said I looked beautiful, and oh well.. I did. :)
It was MY big day. My best friends, my family, and my friends were ALL there. Except my mom. That was a setback. I missed her a lot on my birthday, but then she called.
Anyways, from the millions of pictures, the videos, birthday bumps, songs for the birthday girl, my tiara, the food and what not.. it was an over all blast.
Never can I forget my sweet 16. Not only me, NOBODY CAN. IT was a memorable event for every single person!

'Well, memories will burn you
Memories grow older as people can
They just get colder
Like sweet sixteen'-Billy Idol

My sweet 16.. I can NEVER forget it. NEVER. 'Cause, thats the way it is..
